We enjoy a strong sporting tradition at Bolton School and
believe that sport plays an important role in our pupils'
development. Our facilities, which include tennis and netball
courts, a swimming pool, gym and extensive playing fields, are
excellent.
Taught by specialist staff, the children play netball, hockey
and lacrosse during the winter and rounders, tennis and athletics
in the summer.
Years 4, 5 and 6 also visit the School's own Outdoor Pursuits
centre at Patterdale Hall in the Lake District. Supervised at all
times by fully qualified instructors, they can safely enjoy a range
of exciting activities such as sailing, gorge walking and
abseiling. Fun and a real sense of achievement is virtually
guaranteed!
I think the sports teachers are very supportive. I'm not
very good at swimming but when I swam my first 25 metres they were
really proud of me.
