"Hesketh House (Junior Girls' School) is a magical place of adventure, discovery, learning, friendship and joy. The girls, albeit within a modern, disciplined, hard-working atmosphere, appear each evening as though sprinkled in fairy dust."

Girls Go Greek

Wednesday, 12 October 2011

Year 3 began their Learning Challenge 'What did the Ancient Greeks give to the World?' with a workshop from the Konflux Theatre company, called 'Greece is the Word'.

The girls had a fast-paced overview of the lives and achievements of the Ancient Greeks. They carried out drama activities and learnt a script to perform a play at the end of the day to the rest of the school. They certainly enjoyed the experience and performed in a confident manner, managing new words such as Hippocrates and Euripides! The Year 3 girls are now eager to learn more about the Ancient Greeks and have used this experience to consider what they'd like to find out about this ancient civilisation.
