Once again the Junior Department of Bolton School Girls'
Division has played host to the annual Association of Junior
Independent Schools' (AJIS) Netball Tournament.
The competition, run at the School's netball pitches at
Leverhulme Pavilion, proved as popular as ever with 22 independent
schools from across the North-West sending teams.
Bolton School's A team made it through to the Plate semi-finals
but went out, losing 4-1 to St Bede's.
The overall winners of the competition were Estcourt Preparatory
School, who overcame King Edward Queen Mary's School 9-2 in the
final.
The winners of the runners-up prize, the Plate, were Manchester
High School for Girls who beat their "local rivals" St Bede's,
6-1.
The prize for best effort from a "smaller school" went to Abbey
Gate College.
