"The classic Bolton School combination is hard work, good friends, challenging and thought-provoking teaching, a healthy desire to puncture the self-important and the sense that you can work hard to achieve things in life. "

Junior Girls Follow the Star!

Thursday, 02 December 2010

Bolton School Junior Girls got into the spirit of Christmas with their Nativity Celebration 'Following the Star' in which they told the nativity story through song, music, narration, poetry and dance to a packed audience of parents.

Head of Junior Girls' School, Mrs Ruth Brierley, welcomed everyone to the Girls' Great Hall, before the production began with a rendition of 'Christmas is Coming' sung by the whole school. Highlights included readings of short poems, solo performances by several girls and an enchanting angel dance by Year 3 girls.

Towards the end of the show, pupils performed songs entitled 'We Bring Gold' and 'I'd rather follow you' before the finale which was a lively medley of songs performed by the whole school. The celebration ended with a closing prayer and rendition of 'Joy to the World' in both English and Spanish.

A collection was held at the end of the production in aid of the School's sponsored child in Niger, Barietou Ayouba, as part of the World Vision programme.
