Year 3 pupil Lizzie Crowther has become the Bolton School Junior
Girls' Young Photographer of the Year!
Lizzie won the Junior Girls' photography competition with her
photos, which included a self-portrait photograph in a London tube
station, where she cleverly used a convex mirror for effect.
The photography competition was held over Easter and after being
given some photography hints and tips by the School's marketing
manager, the girls went away over the holidays and took photographs
in a range of categories including nature, people, places and
sport. There was a form winner in each category and Lizzie won
the Nature and Places categories in her form. She was also the
winner in her year for her Places photo and was commended in the A
day to Remember category, taking the title of Photographer of the
Year.
The Parents' Association and Head of School, Mrs Ruth Brierley,
judged the photos and awarded rosettes and commendations to form
and year winners and the winning shield to overall winner
Lizzie.
