"Personally I attribute a significant part of my success to my Bolton School education and the superb foundation it provided. It is the reason why I am so keen to come back and work with the School. "

Pantomime Fun For Year 6 Girls

Friday, 13 December 2013

On Thursday and Friday, Year 6 Hesketh House girls visited the Senior Girls' school for a practical Drama workshop. The genre of drama they explored was Pantomime.

After discussing the conventions and features of Pantomime they were allocated groups and provided with a script. Each group had a different playscript: ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’, ‘Little Red Riding Hood’, ‘Cinderella’, and ‘Aladdin’. The girls worked cooperatively in their groups during the rehearsal period in the new Sutcliffe Studio, and after a short break moved to the Girls Division Theatre to perform.

The girls were given props and costumes, and performed their pantomime with lights and music. Mrs Smith and the Sixth Form students, who helped to lead the workshop, could not believe how talented all the girls were.

It was a morning full of laughs, boos and cheers!
