Bolton School Year 5 and 6 girls took part in a drama workshop
with the Young Shakespeare Company, who brought the play 'Hamlet'
to life for them.
The promenade-style performance in Hesketh House Hall used
costume and props to tell Shakespeare's tragic story. The actors
involved the girls in recreating scenes from the play and enabled
them to become actively and imaginatively involved in the play
through a carefully structured range of drama and language
activities. The girls were encouraged to think about the motives,
thoughts and feelings of the characters and explore the language of
Shakespeare.
The adaptation provided a memorable experience and left the
girls very excited about Shakespeare.
