Bolton School Junior Girls celebrated World Book Day with two
days of literature based activities including a Book Aid
International cover design competition, book quizzes, and dressing
up as their favourite story characters.
The Junior School was transformed with colourful scenes from
well known tales, as girls donned a variety of costumes from Snow
White and Scooby Do, to Pirates and Princesses! In addition,
girls got the chance to explore books in other languages as Year 3
and 4 pupils studied The Hungry Caterpillar in Spanish - La Pequeña
Oruga Glotona, reading the story and drawing pictures, whilst Year
5 and 6 pupils listened to Cinderella in French - Cendrillon, and
had opportunities to act out the story.
The world of literature was further celebrated as the girls
watched the film of the classic book, 'Tom's Midnight Garden' by
Philippa Pearce, and with a Book Fair held at the school
where they had the chance to browse a wide selection of
books.
