"The best thing I can say of the school was that it worked. It embedded in me habits of reading and thinking as well as an enduring curiosity about just about everything."

Yr4 and Yr5 Girls Win Swim Races

Friday, 31 January 2014

Bolton School Junior Girls won both their relay heat races at the Bolton Primary Schools' Swim Championship for Year 4 and 5 pupils. The event was hosted at Bolton School and follows on from last week's gala for Year 5 and 6 pupils, which was held at Total Fitness Bolton and was attended by Olympics medallists Rebecca Adlington and Steve Parry.

32 swimmers from five schools entered the competition: Bolton School Junior Girls, St Maxentius, SS Peter and Paul, Lostock and St Saviours. A number of relay races took place and once timings have been assessed, one school will progress on to represent the town at the Manchester Aquatic Games.

The event was organised by the Bolton Schools' Sports' Partnership and Year 7 boys from Bolton School helped out with the stewarding of competitors and spectators.
