Hesketh House - Parents
Association
The mission behind a Parents Association should
be to develop a positive and welcoming climate for all parents and
to help create opportunities that bring everyone involved in our
children's education and welfare closer together. It should aim to
help the school in meeting its current needs and in doing so foster
a closer community around the school and enhance our children's
educational environment.
The Parents Association at Hesketh House aim to
do this by organising events that give parents, guardians, teachers
and pupils the opportunity to interact and have fun and to raise
some money which is then spent to enhance our children's experience
whilst in Hesketh House.
At the moment there are 8 parents on the
Committee and we are hoping that some more of you will join us on
Monday evening at our first meeting of the School Year. We would
like to have at least one representative from each Form. These
people will need to attend PA meetings and communicate the
information back to other Parents.
Dates of Committee Meetings
All meetings take place in the Hall at Hesketh
House
Monday 19th September at 7pm
Monday 21st November at 7pm
Wednesday January 11th at 7pm
June 2012 to be arranged.
What we discuss at Committee
Meetings
Committee meetings are our opportunity to
discuss the events we are planning. One person usually volunteers
to be in charge of a particular event and then the planning of the
event is communicated to all through email. Mrs Brierley also
attends the meetings.
How you can get involved
During the course of the year we do need help
from all the Parents. This may be in the form of donating cakes or
hamper gifts, modelling in a fashion show, manning a stall at The
Easter Fair, selling cakes etc. Your class rep will ask if you want
to help out. We also keep a list of emails addresses from Parents
who are willing to help. It's entirely up to you if you want to get
involved. You will always be welcome at our PA meetings. The more
people we have on the PA the more we can organise and thus more can
be achieved. Please look at the noticeboard in the playground as
this will be updated weekly. If you have not seen this it is by the
outside seating area opposite the front entrance of Hesketh
House.
Finances
The PA is financed entirely by its events and
the donations that we all pay at the beginning of the School Year.
Each year we produce accounts which outline where money has been
spent.
School Bags
The School bag costs £12.50 and can be bought
from the Parents Association via the School Office. Cheque to
Hesketh House Parents Association.
Second Hand Uniform
Can be purchased through Mandy Hundle Tel:
