The Senior Lacrosse Team at Bolton School Girls’ Division has won the Northern Schools’ Tournament, held on the 8th October at Queen Margaret’s School in York.

The Senior Team was up against Moreton Hall in their opening match; a team that were predicted to be their toughest opposition of the day. Bolton took an early lead; however, Moreton Hall fought back hard and the game ended in a 5-5 draw. From that moment on, Bolton had to play exceptionally well for their remaining five matches, in order to gain a significant goal difference. They went on to beat Shrewsbury 8-0, Withington High School for Girls 8-1, Birkenhead 7-4 and Queen Margaret’s 14-0.

The final match became the deciding factor of the tournament, and with an emphatic 8-0 win against Harrogate, the Bolton School 1st Team was victorious, becoming the Northern Schools’ Lacrosse Champions for 2022.

Coach Miss Donaghy said:

This is a fantastic and well-deserved achievement for the Senior Lacrosse Squad.

The victorious squad was: Martha Halford (Captain), Alice Leary (Vice-Captain), Francesca Williams-Denton, Jasmine Curtis-Walker, Ella Brophy, Ruby Hurt, Jade Sprott, Ilham Nagi, Molly Grimshaw, Pip Nuttall, Alexia Howarth and Anna Brennand.
