Butterflies Visit the Zoo!

Wednesday, 10 June 2015

A group of children from the Bolton School Nursery had a fantastic time on their visit to Blackpool Zoo! At the end of the summer, children from the Butterfly Room will go on to primary school, and so staff arranged a special Leavers’ Trip to mark the end of their time at the Nursery.

The summery weather could not have been better for the girls and boys on their day at the zoo, and the sunshine made the experience all the more special. They were amazed by the wide variety of animals: from meerkats to monkeys, tapirs to kangaroos, and enormous giraffes and elephants, every continent was represented and they were able to learn more about the many different animals. The children particularly enjoyed watching the sea lions perform and were very impressed by tricks such as balancing balls and catching hoops.

There was even time to enjoy an ice lolly in the sunshine!
