"The classic Bolton School combination is hard work, good friends, challenging and thought-provoking teaching, a healthy desire to puncture the self-important and the sense that you can work hard to achieve things in life. "

Gruffalo Theme for World Book Day

Thursday, 03 March 2016

Children at Bolton School’s Nursery took part in World Book Day by dressing up as their favourite fictional characters. From fairytale princesses to fearsome Gruffalos, there was a huge range of costumes on show!

The older children in the Butterfly and Caterpillar rooms brought in their favourite books to share with one another. There was a huge variety, with some children bringing in more modern story books like the Peppa Pig or Topsy and Tim stories, and others sharing classic tales like Cinderella.

The Tweenies had a particularly exciting World Book Day. Their celebrations were themed around ‘The Gruffalo’ by Julia Donaldson, which is the children’s favourite story book. Lots of children came dressed up as the Gruffalo, and everyone was able to have their faces painted to look like the character as well! They also enjoyed a Gruffalo hunt, Gruffalo Play-Doh, and drew pictures of their favourite characters. They were of course able to enjoy reading the story as well.

World Book Day was a great opportunity to get the children at the Nursery excited about reading and sharing stories.
