Our Landscape Garden

This Month is going to be very exciting month for Bolton School Nursery as we are having lots of work done on our new landscape garden. Work will commence on the 22nd of August.

We have worked very closely with a landscape garden company and have come up with some great designs and plans.

All changes made are to enhance all of our children's learning. Building on individual children's interests, confidence, and investigative skills. Each child is unique and what better way to accomodate their learning by enhancing the provision we already have on offer. Giving them the opportunites to be able to expand their knowledge, have the confidence and independence to investigate further.

Please see below for our exciting changes.

Creativity plays huge part in our children's lives. As each children thrives in our environment their interests and personalities grow into something quite magical. Musicality is very popular with many children in our setting, we already aid this by having extra curricular activities such as Rhythm Time and Kids Rock. To enhance children's experiences we have decided to bring the music outdoors giving children the opportunity to experiment with larger more noiser instruments.

There are also going to be opportunities for children to freely explore the landscape garden around them with hidden surprises such as secret tunnels and mirrors, to explore their images or the reflections of the world in which they play in.

As you can see from both images below and above we are going to have a secret garden. Children will have the opportunity to feel they have privacy in their own little play area were "Adults can't go" This will give children independency, confidence and have fun in their very own secret garden. (Please note that the area will not be out of site and adults can observe the area whilst giving the children their own privacy at the same time.)

The image below shows our gross motor area were children will have the opportunity to climbing and crawl around, this area also gives opportunities for den making were children can be imaginative. We have also brought in the natural elements to our outdoor area as you can see from our walk throughs we will be growing our very own plants which will be a variety of floral and herb plants. This will help children explore thier individual senses and investigate freely. Children will be growing these with staff and soon have the enjoyment of watching their plants grow.
