As with its extensive extra-curricular activity programme,
Bolton School has an enviable reputation for broadening the
education of its pupils through school visits, camps and
expeditions. Some trips form an integral part of the taught
curriculum, including an annual residential visit to our outdoor
pursuits centre at Patterdale Hall. Others
take place at week-ends or during holiday times.
The School runs a wide programme, covering a multitude of
interests and destinations. The various expeditions are led and
staffed by academic teachers, but expert instruction is provided
where appropriate. Involvement of the School Scout Troop and Bolton
School Outdoor Pursuits extends the programme yet further.
The programme of trips is always published two years in advance,
so that pupils and parents alike are able to have as complete a
picture as possible of the trips on offer. With over 60 foreign and
residential visits to seventeen different countries, there is
plenty to choose from.
The trips, camps and journeys listed below include the
curriculum visits to Patterdale Hall made by all boys during every
school year.
