Bolton School Bees’ Honey is Now On Sale

Wednesday, 18 November 2015

Bolton School bees have produced a good crop of honey this year and it is now on sale at last year's price of £6 for a 227g jar.  Boys’ Division Physics Teacher Mr McMinn said: “The hexagonal pots of honey with a Bolton School sticker on make an ideal Christmas present.  If you know someone who has hay fever then local honey is known to reduce the symptoms.”

Beekeeping Club members will be extracting, sieving and jarring the honey at lunchtime demonstrations.  Anyone wishing to purchase the honey should email Mr McMinn at rm@boltonschool.org ; honey can also be purchased from room C19 in the Boys' Division at 1.00pm on Thursdays.

All proceeds made from sales go back into the club and will be used to maintain and expand bee colonies at the School and to provide new colonies to local beekeepers, something the School has increasingly focused on in this past year.
