"The classic Bolton School combination is hard work, good friends, challenging and thought-provoking teaching, a healthy desire to puncture the self-important and the sense that you can work hard to achieve things in life. "

Boys are All Rounders!

Tuesday, 12 October 2010

Bolton School pupils Sam Towers and Will Dowie have proved they are multi talented as first team cricketers and now golf champions!

Along with teacher Mr Chris Coffey, the boys won the Forty Club North West Golf Event - the second year running that the school has won the event. Year 11 pupil Sam and Year 9 pupil Will both play first team cricket in their age groups.

The competition was organised by The Forty Club, the second largest private cricket club in the world whose aim is to take cricket to the schools by offering fixtures against experienced cricketers who will encourage young cricketers to play the game to the highest standards. As one of the schools that The Forty Club play against, Bolton School were invited to enter the golf event which was held at Garstang Golf and Country Club.

A dinner was held after the event where prizes were awarded for 'nearest the pin' and 'longest drive' and the boys picked up their trophy.
