Bolton School Boys’ Division has posted another impressive set of GCSE results with 99% of pupils once again achieving the benchmark of at least 5 A*-C grades. At the top end of the results, pupils also achieved very highly with, like last year, 25% of papers being graded at A*. 52.7% of all papers were graded at either A* or A. Thomas Paterson was the top performing student with 12 straight A* grades and Luke Cavanaugh, Zain Hajee, Shubham Jain, Ali Khalid, Siddarth Nandalan, Thomas Mair and Sam Warburton all achieved 10 A*s or more. A further four boys achieved 9 A* grades.
Philip Britton said: ‘I am very pleased and proud of the achievements of all the boys today – from those with a full set of top A* grades to those who have worked hard to ensure they have passed their subjects well. It is an important feature of independent schools that our results are not only about very able people getting very good results but also about adding real value - in terms of results and in a much wider sense – to every boy.”
85% of pupils achieved at least 5 A*-B grades, 62.7% of pupils came away with at least 4 As and 3 Bs and 93.6% of all papers were graded A*-C.
