Boys Perform at the URC of St Andrew and St George

Bolton School Boys Division Music Department took a selection of boys from Year 9 and 10 to perform at Bolton’s St Andrew and St George United Reformed Church’s lunchtime concert series. 

In a varied repertoire, Alex Gao played Chopin’s Minute Waltz on piano, Jamie Gregson offered up Velazquez’s Besame Mucho on trumpet, a violin piece - Millies’s Concertino (1st Movement) – was perfomed by Jonny Shine, a guitar piece – Caramba by Calatayud was played by Nikhil Maini, Nathanaiel Donaldson offered Elmer Bernstein’s Great Escape on saxophone, Adam Whitmore sang Bob Dylan’s Make You Feel My Love, playing flute Sam Ryder performed Celia McDowell’s Music Hall, Jazzin’ Grace was played on piano by Ruairi McCabe, Francisco Repelardo’s Chan Chan was performed by Will Hardy on trumpet, Purcell’s Rondo was offered by Ed Bailey on saxophone, Steely Blue by V Lindsey-Clark was Shivam Patel’s contribution on classical guitar, on piano/organ Oliver Shaw gave the audience an Organ Voluntary, Stormy Weather by H Arlen was sung by Jean-Paul Asumu and Bach’s Rondo from Concerto in E Major was performed as a violin piece by Victor Chow. 

Mr Bleasdale, Director of Music in the Boys’ Division, said: “The concert was very well attended and many of the audience commented on how wonderful the boys performed. They were great ambassadors for the school.”
