"Three years ago I was undereducated, underachieving and underestimated. The bursary at Bolton School meant that I had a chance at changing my life. It offered me new blueprints for the future, and I saw endless possibilities."

Boys' Volleyball Progress

Tuesday, 27 March 2012

After winning the Town U15 Volleyball Championships, the Year 10 squad were in confident mood as they entered the Greater Manchester School Games.

With an opening ceremony at SportsCity, Manchester, this was a large regional event with numerous sports taking place across the City involving hundreds of children.

Understandably the standard of volleyball was high with many club, county and even international players but after a slow start the Bolton side topped their group. Unfortunately the boys lost in the semi-final to the eventual winners but PE teacher Mr Chilton was pleased with their progress: "I am very proud of the team's efforts and we will be looking to expand on the success the school has had in a short time in what is an unfamiliar sport at Bolton School."
