"Three years ago I was undereducated, underachieving and underestimated. The bursary at Bolton School meant that I had a chance at changing my life. It offered me new blueprints for the future, and I saw endless possibilities."

Century for Haseebullah!

Thursday, 27 May 2010

Year 8 pupil Haseebullah Hameed is making his mark on Bolton School cricket, despite only being at the school since January.

Talented cricketer Haseebullah has definitely found his feet at Bolton School - recording his first century for the team in a win against Manchester Grammar.

This comes after he gained scores of 61 versus Stockport Grammar School and 54 not out against Lancaster RGS. Haseebullah punished the bowling of the Manchester Grammar attack even more heavily and recorded his first century - 106 not out - as his U13 team celebrated victory against the previously unbeaten team. He was ably assisted by Lancashire teammates Matthew Parkinson (48) and brother Callum to give Bolton a 38 run victory.  The final score against Manchester Grammar was Bolton 196 all out, Manchester 158-8.

Haseebullah also made a century in a recent fixture in a District game against Wigan.
