"Three years ago I was undereducated, underachieving and underestimated. The bursary at Bolton School meant that I had a chance at changing my life. It offered me new blueprints for the future, and I saw endless possibilities."

Commonwealth Bronze for Daniel

Saturday, 09 October 2010

Old Boy, Daniel Sliwinski, has won a bronze medal in the Men's 4 x 100m Medley Relay at the Commonwealth Games!  Lining up with three of England's best, the team were up against some of the World's most successful swimmers.  Liam Tancock swam the first leg, leading off on the backstroke in his usual dominant style, Daniel swam the breaststroke leg before handing over to Antony James on the fly, and they were anchored by Simon Burnett.  It was a great effort from Team England, finishing in third place behind winners Australia and second placed South Africa!

It was the first time in his career that Daniel has made the Senior International podium but we are sure it will not be the last.  He also comes away from the Games having made it to two other finals, finishing an impressive sixth in the 50m breaststroke and eighth in the 100m breaststroke.
