High Hopes for Rohit in Radio 2 Story Competition

Wednesday, 17 April 2013

Year 9 pupil Rohit Bagewadi has made it through to the second stage of the BBC Radio 2 Chris Evans 500 Words Competition.

This is a great achievement for Rohit as over 90,000 entries were received, and only around 3,000 go through to the next stage. He entered the age 10-13 category with his story "A Short Chronicle of the Extraordinarily Strange Life of Weyman Jefferson".

His story, along with the others, will now be sent to the Scottish Book Trust for the second stage of the judging process and he will find out by the end of April if it has made it into the Top 50.

The top 50 stories will be published on the Radio 2 website in early May, ahead of the final which will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 2 on 31st May.
