"Bolton School was such a large part of my life. I can safely say that I would not be doing what I do for a living if it wasn’t for the vibrant arts scene at the school and the encouragement that I was given."

Neil Eckersley, Former Pupil and Theatre Producer

Old Boy Arun is Instrumentalist of the Year

Friday, 13 June 2014

Old Boy Arun Ghosh was recently awarded Instrumentalist of the Year at the Parliamentary Jazz Awards!

The Parliamentary Jazz Awards is organised by the All Party Parliamentary Jazz Appreciation Group. Nominees for the awards are put forward by members of the public. A selection panel then chooses finalists from the public nominations for the consideration of members of the All Party Parliamentary Jazz Appreciation Group.

The Instrumentalist of the Year Award is a new award this year; along with Vocalist of the Year, it replaces Musician of the Year to allow greater acknowledgment of the various forms of jazz. Arun was one of just three finalists in his category, alongside Laura Jurd and Mike Walker.

He received the award at the House of Commons during the Parliamentary Jazz Awards ceremony. This is a fantastic and well-deserved achievement for Arun.
