Parallel Oreos Offer More Taste-ful Support

Thursday, 27 March 2014

The Parallel Oreos, a band comprised of four Year 9 pupils at Bolton School, have, once again, supported Debbie Halls-Evans, the recent winner of the Channel 4 programme The Taste. Debbie was giving a cooking demonstration in The Market Place, Bolton ahead of her forthcoming dates in the US. Also supporting her were Cammie Carter, Kevin Simm from Liberty X and former Bolton School pupil and recent Voice contestant, Joe Keegan.

The boys played a fine half hour set which pulled in the passing morning shoppers. Singer for the band, George Morgan, said: “It has been another great experience. We enjoyed the atmosphere and it always feels good to support events in the town.”

The band was asked to play the gig after a terrific performance at Ryan Giggs’s restaurant George’s when they performed at the press party celebrating Debbie’s The Taste win. She also asked the boys to play at her house at a forthcoming cooking event. They also impressed a local promoter who has given them the opportunity to play in front of thousands of people at the Festwich 2014, which will be held in Prestwich on 27 July.
