"We could not be more delighted with our son's progress at Beech House. His personal and social development has been remarkable. Academically we have seen him make excellent progress as well."

Pupils Walk to Rivington Pike for Charity

Wednesday, 10 July 2013

The whole of Bolton School Boys’ and Girls’ Divisions took part in a 12 mile sponsored walk up to Rivington Pike to raise money for a range of charities.

The Senior School pupils from Years 7 to 13 walked from School up to the Pike in the glorious sunshine, stopping only to eat their lunch at the top. They were joined on the walk by their teachers, and also by a group of Chinese students from Zhongshan Yan Zhou Primary School who are in Bolton as part of the City Link project with Bolton Council. The Chinese students were led by Jack Zhang – Special Envoy for School, Culture and City Link. The group plan to return next year when Jack has promised to teach Mandarin in Park Road Junior School.

This is the second year the mass walk has taken place. Last summer it was part of a whole school fundraising day for the LivLife Foundation. This year a number of charities will benefit including Help for Heroes, Wish Upon a Star, Lilac Centre, Macmillan Cancer Support, Derian House, The British Heart Foundation, Beanstalk, Seeability, Fort Alice, Children’s Wish and Leukemia Research.
