"Reluctantly, I wait for the holidays to come. I love coming to school. I am still doing cross country...the reason why I started was because Jessica Ennis inspired me."

School Backs Bolton and Bury Business

Wednesday, 06 March 2013

Bolton School is proud to be a sponsor of the prestigious Bolton and Bury Business Awards for the fourth year running.

The School will once again sponsor the Young Person/Apprentice of the Year category.

This is the eighth year the awards have been held and is now one of the most eagerly anticipated dates in the local business calendar with over 600 business people attending last year. Local companies are being urged to enter to fly the flag for Bury and Bolton in the event, which recognises and rewards the achievements of companies in both towns. The awards are open to companies of all sizes and judges will be looking for businesses or individuals who make a vital contribution to the local economy. There are 11 award categories covering every facet of business achievement and enterprise and judges will choose the overall winners from a shortlist of finalists in each category. The winners will be announced at a ceremony at the De Vere Whites Hotel at the Reebok Stadium on Thursday 20th June.

Headmistress of Bolton School Girls' Division, Miss Sue Hincks, said: "Once again Bolton School is proud to sponsor this award. We feel it is important that successful young people in the workplace are recognised and rewarded for their endeavours. As we know from the career paths of many of our former students, young people can offer incredible dedication and innovation when they enter the business world. They also serve as excellent role models to their peers and people within the company. In many ways the category reflects our own mission of educating and sending out people into the world who have talent and self-belief and who will make a difference for good. We strive to challenge and encourage initiative in our pupils as well as develop their leadership and teamwork skills. We look forward to finding and celebrating a young person in the Bolton and Bury community who has demonstrated such attributes and who has made a real impact at work. Their importance to the future prosperity of the local area should not be overlooked.”
