"Bolton School was such a large part of my life. I can safely say that I would not be doing what I do for a living if it wasn’t for the vibrant arts scene at the school and the encouragement that I was given."

Violin Quartet Opens Holocaust Memorial Service

Wednesday, 25 January 2017

Bolton's annual Civic Commemoration for Holocaust Memorial Day proved a very moving event, presided over by Reverend Canon Matt Thompson. The mayor, several Councillors and many of Bolton's religious leaders of all faiths were present, alongside children and staff from several local primary and secondary schools and members of the public.

The service began with the Boys' Division Violin Quartet playing the 'Theme from Schindler's List' by John Williams and after the candle lighting ceremony, the quartet played 'Andante Religioso' by Josef Bloch. This was followed by a number of poignant readings presented by pupils from other schools and the religious leaders.
