Sir Ian McKellen attended Bolton School from 1951-58 and was
Captain (Head Boy) of the School from 1957-58. Sir Ian holds
fond memories of his time at Bolton School where his love of acting
was first inspired.
He recently visited the School to put his name to the drama
studio - the McKellen Studio Theatre.
He then sat in on a GCSE Drama class and offered his tips and
reminisced about his happy days at the School.
Sir Ian then lunched with the Literary and Debating Society and
discussed tolerance and gay rights issues.
You can view a gallery
of photo which records his visit and read the
full story of his day at Bolton School.
