A Parent's View

Before I decided to send my first son to Bolton School ten years ago I was, like most parents, particularly interested in the School's academic record. Throughout the interim period the examination results have remained consistently excellent - to the extent that it was described as a 'remarkable' School in the last Inspection Report. I therefore had no qualms whatsoever about sending my second son to School two years later.

Academic excellence is clearly of paramount importance to all prospective parents but the Bolton School experience is so much more than just giving boys an outstanding education. Whatever your son's interests he will find something to satisfy him. Over ninety clubs meet every week, the School is renowned for its sporting prowess in a widely diverse range of sports, it has an enviable music tradition and drama productions have to be seen to be appreciated.

Boys are taught separately from girls but they have ample opportunity to socialise during breaks and do indeed perform together in musical and dramatic productions. There is thus no gender rivalry during lessons but at the same time the boys learn to mix easily and to socialise with their female counterparts. Very few schools in the country can offer such an educational model and it is considered to be a strength of Bolton School.

The School is a caring community and takes great pride in its holistic approach to education which ensures that the boys leave School as well-rounded confident young men, well prepared to face the challenges of the adult world and equipped with the skills that will enable them to be a force for good in the future -  wherever life takes them.

In short I believe that my sons' education at Bolton School has been the best investment I have ever made and I heartily commend it to all prospective new parents.
