We have two fine libraries in the Senior School: the main
library for Years 9 to 13 and the Turret Library for Years 7 and 8.
Together, these libraries provide study and research facilities, as
well as an impressive choice of recreational reading. Advice is on
hand from our Chartered Librarian and her Assistant.
A wide range of information sources is available for loan to
support the curriculum. There are DVDs, newspapers, magazines,
sheet music and CDs. In the Turret Library there is a collection of
French, German and Spanish resources. A network of 22 computers
allows pupils to access the Internet, their own work areas and the
library catalogue.
The library is open from 8.30am throughout the school day and
pupils are welcome to use it whenever they are free. Teachers make
good use of the facilities, often bringing in classes to research
specific topics.
Girls play an active role in the library, helping behind the
counter, taking part in reading groups and competitions and
attending sessions by visiting authors.
