A Star Girls

Year 11 pupils at Bolton School Girls’ Division have been celebrating excellent GCSE results with an increase in the number of papers being graded at A* and A. 

Headmistress Sue Hincks said: “We are delighted with a very impressive set of GCSE results. Over 71% of grades were at A* or A grade and 34.7% were A*. The value added grades for all the girls are superb. Two thirds of the girls achieved at least eight A or A* grades. A fifth of the girls achieved 8 A* grades or higher with one girl gaining 13 A* grades and seven girls achieving 11 or more A* grades. A number of girls took Further Maths as an extra-curricular option and, between them, they achieved 11 A* grades and two double A* grades.”  

Overall, 99.2% of papers were graded A*-C and 99% of girls achieved at least 5 A*-C grades. 97% of girls came away with at least 5 A*-B grades and an impressive 38% of pupils obtained at least 11 A* and A grades. 

Katerina Gramm achieved an amazing 13 A* grades and Priya Guhathakurta, Lea Assi and Hannah Daley all achieved 12 A*s; Reem Harandou, Eloise Booth and Isabelle Grime all achieved 11 A*s and, in total, thirteen girls got 9 A* grades or better.
