Bolton School Wins Town Athletics Championship

A team comprising seven Year 11 girls from Bolton School Girls' Division has won the Bolton Town Athletics Championship, which were held at Leverhulme Park stadium. 

The girls competed in a full range of track and field events and there were many individual successes on the night. 

Lydia Walker was second in the 1500m final whilst Lucy Croston ran an excellent 800m final to become individual town Champion.

In the Discus and Javelin events, Eleanor Ferm finished in second and third place respectively whilst Emily Woodhead finished 4th in the Shot Put.

Ellena Owen was placed second in both the 200m final and the High Jump event.

Captain Jenny Heyes just missed out on first place in the 100m final but won the Long Jump event, setting a new Personal best of 4.49m.

The relay team of Emily Harper, Emily Woodhead, Ellena Owen and Jenny Heyes ran magnificently to beat long standing rivals Canon Slade into second place to become Bolton Town Champions.
