Emma to Swim for England

Monday, 02 November 2009

Emma Saunders, a Year 11 pupil in the Girls' Division, will swim for England in an International tournament next year against Wales, Ireland and Scotland.

Emma has been chosen to swim for England after her recent English Schools' record-breaking swim in the 100m Freestyle at the English Schools' Swimming Association's (ESSA) Individual National Finals held at Crystal Palace.

Emily Bates, a Year 10 pupil, also swam in the ESSA competition and came eighth in the 100m breaststroke.  Both girls were swimming for Division 7, which is a team made up of pupils from the Greater Manchester and North Staffordshire region.
