"Bolton School was such a large part of my life. I can safely say that I would not be doing what I do for a living if it wasn’t for the vibrant arts scene at the school and the encouragement that I was given."

Eight talented Year 6 pupils at Lostock Primary School have been enjoying extra Mathematics tuition in after school classes with Bolton School Girls’ Division teachers. Working as a team, Mr Wrigley and Miss Doran have been helping prepare gifted children for their KS2 National Curriculum Assessments in the Summer Term.
Reflecting on the Spring Term sessions, Mr Wrigley said: “The pupils were really keen to spend more time on their Maths; they have been really enthusiastic and not afraid to ask or answer questions. They are a lovely group and a credit to their school. The staff at Lostock have been very good to us too; very friendly and welcoming. We have worked on a variety of topics with them, including BIDMAS, angles, substitution and equations in algebra and we have tried to include reasoning and discussion work as much as possible. Adjusting to teaching primary school children was not too difficult as the group were so able and confident in their mathematics.
