"The best thing I can say of the school was that it worked. It embedded in me habits of reading and thinking as well as an enduring curiosity about just about everything."

Girls Dominate U13s Bolton Schools’ Netball Tournament

Wednesday, 11 March 2015

The U13 Netball team dominated the Bolton Schools’ Netball Tournament, which was hosted at the School’s Leverhulme Pavilion. Despite wet and miserable conditions, the girls played through their five group stage games and only conceded one goal throughout! The team progressed to the semi-final as winners of their group, and were to face Turton.

The semi-final was very closely contested. Turton edged ahead at the opening of the match, but Bolton pulled together and took a very commanding lead in the second half. The girls proved to be too strong for Turton and final won the game 10-4.

Westhoughton were waiting for the Bolton School team in the final. Bolton took a strong lead from the beginning, and by half time were 5-0 up. Westhoughton pulled two goals back at the start of the second half, but their efforts were not quite enough for the strong Bolton team.

The Bolton girls won with a final score of 9-2, and returned with the Bolton Schools’ Netball Trophy.
