Girls from Years 11 to 13 of Bolton School were treated to an
insight into how to 'Bend it like Beckham' in a lecture on flight
by Manchester University lecturer, Dr Iain Dupere.
Dr Dupere is from the School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil
Engineering at Manchester University, and is a regular visitor to
Bolton School. On this occasion, he spoke to girls from Physics and
Mathematics groups about flight, including the history of flight,
how objects fly, vertical take off, Beckham's bending football
flights, and the future of flight.
The lecture was part of the Learning Support programme, which
aims to enrich the girls' programme of study.
