Pupils in Bolton School Girls' Division have held three cake sales to raise funds to buy a laptop and projector to take with them and gift to a school on their forthcoming visit to Tanzania. Their efforts were given a boost when Clever IT agreed to co-fund the hardware and to install Microsoft Office on the laptop.
In Tanzania the girls will be working with a school and two outreach centres that have been set up by the Charity LivLife. The charity was set up by Bolton Old Boys Sam Yates and Max Griffiths and the Girls' Division has previously visited them in 2011 and 2013.
Mrs Crowther, who flies out on Thursday morning with the Year 10 girls, said: "When we are out there it is the Tanzanian school's 10 year anniversary and we have been invited to a celebration they are having at the school which help them raise further funds. I am very grateful to Clever IT for matching every penny the girls raised and can't wait to give the laptop and pc projector to the school as I know they are very much needed. We are all very excited to be undertaking this adventure - it is always great fun and an incredible learning experience for the girls."
