"I remember my days at school vividly and with great affection. Bolton School has a great tradition in the liberal arts. I've always acted for the love of it and this first love was inspired at Hopefield, the school theatre."

Girls Steal the Show in French Spelling Competition

Wednesday, 23 March 2011

The four girls who won the Bolton School round of the Y7 French Spelling Bee Competition competed in the West Midlands regional heat at Aston University. The girls were unable to compete in the North West round of the competition due to activities week. Although all the girls were nervous at the start of the day they put up fierce competition against four other schools in the West Midlands region and stole the show!

Anjali Anicatt (7D), Francesca Adams (7B) and Molly Dick (7C) took 1st, 2nd and 3rd place and will go on to represent Bolton School and the West Midlands in the national competition in Cambridge at the end of the summer term. Vasudha Marthi missed out on a place in the final by only one point, coming in in 5th place.

French teacher, Miss Tomlinson, said: "All girls should be extremely proud of their achievements.  We wish them the best of luck in the final!"
