"The classic Bolton School combination is hard work, good friends, challenging and thought-provoking teaching, a healthy desire to puncture the self-important and the sense that you can work hard to achieve things in life. "

Local Primaries Enjoy the Bolton School Sports' Festival

Thursday, 25 June 2015

Eleven primary schools from across the region sent ten of their crack Year 5 athletes to take part in this year’s Bolton School Sports' Festival. The sun shone and children enjoyed a carousel of challenging multi-sport activities which took place against the clock, including tests of their football, hockey, tennis, throwing, running, balancing, aiming and coordination skills.

Primary Liaison Coordinator, Miss Alison Holroyd said: "A fantastic time was had by all at the Sports’ Festival, the eager and committed visiting pupils showed off their sporting skills."

In what was a close and competitive festival, Horwich Parish School ran out as winners with Pikes Lane in second place and Markland Hill in third. Other schools that took part included Clarendon Cottage, Haslam Park, Heathfield CP School, Hindsford CE School, Lostock, St Peter’s Farnworth, St Philip’s Atherton and St Thomas of Canterbury.
