"Reluctantly, I wait for the holidays to come. I love coming to school. I am still doing cross country...the reason why I started was because Jessica Ennis inspired me."

Niamh Qualifies for Open Water National Championships

Monday, 27 June 2016

Over the weekend, Niamh Knowles in Year 10 swam in her first open water competition at Salford Quays in Manchester.

Niamh took part in the ASA North West Region Open Water Regional Championships and swam 3Km. Despite only managing two practice swims over the last month, and although this was her first competitive open water swim, she finished second place in Lancashire and second in the North West! She was very pleased with her swim.

Her excellent result now means that she has qualified for the Open Water National Championships, which take place in Sheffield in July.
