Old Girls Join Pupils for Armistice Assembly

Friday, 09 November 2012

Bolton School Girls’ Division held a special Armistice Assembly in their Great Hall which saw current pupils joined by thirty Old Girls who were invited back for the occasion.

Poetry from Wilfred Owen was read by pupils Leda Hadjigeorgiou and Annie Simon, and everyone joined together to sing ‘I vow to thee my country’ and ‘Jerusalem’. Isobel Faulkner also played the Last Post and the Rouse (or Reveille) at what was a very moving event.

After attending the assembly, many of the Old Girls went on a tour of the school before gathering in the Arts Centre for lunch. There, they were joined by Year Seven pupils, who sang for them the School Song as well as some of the songs which they had performed in the recent Year Seven concert.
