Record Success for Senior Girls’ Swim Relay Team

Wednesday, 09 December 2009

Bolton School Senior Girls' Swim Medley Team had record success at the John Parry Swimming Relays, held at Bradford Grammar School.

This was the first year Bolton School Girls' Division has been invited to take part in the event, which sees teams from Northern Independent Schools compete against each other in a series of relays. The Senior Medley Relay Team did exceptionally well as Emily Varley and Emma Saunders from Year 11, alongside Jenny Whitehead from the Lower Sixth and Helen Scott from the Upper Sixth, won their race in a new record time.

There was success all round for Bolton School swimmers as teams from the Girls' Division also gained second place in the Senior Freestyle Relay and Intermediate Medley Relay, and third in the Intermediate Freestyle Relay.

Although this was the first year for the girls, Bolton School Boys have been involved in the competition for several years.
