School's Community Music Programme Begins

Bolton School's community music concert series began on Monday 19th June with the Junior Concert Band, directed by Mr Dawkins, performing at Rivington Foundation Primary School. Some of the musicians in the band demonstrated how to play their instruments and the band’s highlights included ‘Skyfall’, ‘The Simpsons’ and ‘YMCA’ which featured all the Rivington pupils and staff doing the actions. 

The Boys’ Division Brass Ensemble, directed by Mrs Hughes-Williams, performed at Queensbridge Primary School on Tuesday 20th June and Clevelands Preparatory School on Monday 26th June. Highlights of the performance included ‘Uptown Funk’, ‘Let Me Entertain You’ and ‘Penny Lane’. Towards the end of the concert, children and staff from Clevelands were invited to join the band on stage to perform a samba routine, using a range of percussion instruments.
