"The classic Bolton School combination is hard work, good friends, challenging and thought-provoking teaching, a healthy desire to puncture the self-important and the sense that you can work hard to achieve things in life. "

  • Sr Swimming Team ties in 1st Bolton Schools Championships

Pupils in Years 11 and 12 have tied for first place in the Senior age group of the Bolton Schools’ Swimming Championships.

The Senior team were hoping to follow the success of the younger Bolton School teams: the Junior team recently won in their age group, with the Intermediate team narrowly pipped at the post by Canon Slade.

The Seniors found themselves similarly locked in a very close contest with local rivals Canon Slade. With both teams winning two individual events and one relay each, the competition finished in a tie for first place.

On her recent visit to the Girls’ Division, Old Girl and current High Sheriff of Greater Manchester the Lady Smith presented Year 11 pupils Niamh Knowles and Tara Wallis and Year 12 pupils Isabelle Devine and Emma Higginbottom with their cup during morning assembly.
