"I remember my days at school vividly and with great affection. Bolton School has a great tradition in the liberal arts. I've always acted for the love of it and this first love was inspired at Hopefield, the school theatre."

Two Top Five British Finishes for Skating Hollie

Monday, 26 June 2017

  • Hollie Rollerskating Podium

June has seen Hollie Asquith, a Year 7 pupil at Bolton School Girls’ Division, compete in two separate British Championship roller skating disciplines.

Earlier in the summer, Hollie performed in Solo Dance where, in her first year at Espoir level, she came a credible 5th out of 29, having danced two compulsory dances and then a 2 minute free dance choreographed throughout by her coach and herself.

Her second performance in mid-June saw her return to Bolton having gained a podium place of 3rd  after skating a 3 minute free skating programme including double rotation jumps and spins.

Hollie’s mum and coach, Mrs Nina Asquith said: “This was her goal for 2017, so we are very excited that she has achieved this. The icing on the cake was after the presentation when the GB team was announced for the European Championships in mid-October and her name was announced for Espoir Free skating. I am very proud of her and delighted that she has produced two top 5 places in the 2017 British Championships and a European GB team place in Portugal.”
