Year 7s Interviewed on Key103

Thursday, 19 November 2015

Year 7 pupils Chloe Ferguson, Celia Logan, Katie Wild and Connie Williamson travelled into Manchester with Miss Marrs to be interviewed on local radio station Key103! The girls had all taken part in their year group’s Sponsored Silence to raise money for Cash for Kids and Key103’s Mission Christmas appeal.

They met with Key103’s Debbie Mac and were excited to join her in a recording studio to have a chat about their fundraising efforts. They talked about some of the challenges they faced during the course of the day – such as being served the wrong food at lunchtime – and also about the amount of money raised.

Year 7 have managed to collect £2000 for Cash for Kids this year!

In December, a group of girls will travel to Toys R Us in Bolton to convert the cash into toys, which will then be donated to the Mission Christmas appeal. The girls are already really excited about the shopping trip.

The annual Sponsored Silence was the brainchild of Mrs Noot, who is the Head of Year 7. Bolton School pupils have now been supporting Cash for Kids with this challenge since 2012.
