There was much glamour, glitz and fun as the School’s Strictly Club delivered a “Strictly Dance Social Evening” to a large audience of parents, guests, students and staff that gathered in the Arts Centre.
Year 11 pupil, Alastair Ahamed, takes up the story: “This is a unique club that bridges the gap between the two divisions; I say unique because one only has to ask a member of the 'Strictly' family to figure out how much fun both the club is and the social event was. We all loved it! So too did the family and friends of our dancers. Our crew consisted of, Oliver Bond, Kalina Marsh, Iman Orths, Amy Lyons, Niall Woodward, Amy Kadodwala, James Titerington, Elise Skeels-Caldwell, Nina Rabbit, Nuala Fowler, Charlotte Fielding, myself and of course our resident professional Felix Rowan-Young. We opened the evening with some great dancing, what else would it have been without the great teaching of Mrs. Fielding!
We enjoyed many other professional dances on the night including ballroom and Latin dances by our own Felix and his partner Hannah Evans, Irish dancing by Ruairi MacCabe of year seven, and Indian dancing from Ananya and Emily in Year 12.
Everyone enjoyed our evening thanks to the great turn out and support of family and friends, and of course the help from Mrs Fielding and Mrs Smith! We hope to see you all at our next Social evening!”
