Bolton School Sixth Form pupils have raised £1,500 for Bolton
Hospice by holding a Charity gig.
Pupils Jordan Harrison-Twist, a drummer, and Rachael Moulton,
President of the Girls' Division Junior Rotary 'Interact',
orgainised the gig at the Soundhouse in Bolton to support the
Hospice. The charity is particularly close to their hearts as staff
at the Hospice cared for Jordan's neighbour Mark Bridges when he
was diagnosed with terminal cancer.
The night was a huge success as Jordan's Band 'Battleship Lime'
together with another Bolton School band 'Strangeways' and a band
from Winstanley College 'No Hostage Policy' performed to over 250
fans. Members of the Rotary Club of Bolton Lever were on hand to
help Rachael make sure everything ran smoothly on the night.
One of Mark's great passions was music, and I felt it was a
suitable way to show our respect for Mark and at the same time
recognise the care Mark and other cancer sufferers receive at
Bolton Hospice

The Hospice were overwhelmed by the efforts of the pupils, and
praised them for their initiative.
It is such an inspiration to see these young people taking it
upon themselves to organise an event like this to raise money for
other people in a fun way. They really are a credit to the
school
