Mixed Doubles Victory for Old Girls’ Tennis Team

Monday, 13 April 2015

Old Girls Natasha Lomas and Olivia Brown helped the Wanderers tennis team to success in the Bolton Tennis Federation Winter League’s first division mixed doubles competition. Fellow former Bolton School student Chloe Coton also played in most of the Wanderers matches during the season, but was not available for the final match against formidable rivals Holcombe Brook ‘A’ Team.

Wanderers won the league last year for the first time, breaking the longstanding stranglehold Holcombe Brook ‘A’ Team have had on the league’s top spot. The mixed doubles is another great success for the team.

Natasha left Bolton School in the summer of 2014 to study music at the Royal Northern College of Music, where she had received a scholarship in clarinet performance, but has continued to play tennis in her free time. The tennis winter league is an extremely competitive competition attracting top tennis players from a wide area. There are six leagues catering for a wide standard of competitive tennis players. Matches are played indoors at Bolton Arena, Harper Green and David Lloyd Bolton most weeks through the winter months.
